About ESTAIn 1974, at a security meeting in the Netherlands, a concept was born that laid the foundations of The European Security Transport Association (ESTA). The initiative belonged to Dr. C. Barrabino (Italy) and W. Thiele (Germany).The initial goal of this new Association was to design "THE" European armoured Vehicle for CIT by including harmonized standards for balistic resistance. On November 18th, 1975 ESTA was founded in Brussels. Its seven founding members ratified the articles of association and elected Mr. L. Pottier (SPS-France) as President. Today, ESTA is an International non profit Association promoting secure logistics throughout Europe and representing 90% of the European CIT industry. The Association counts 136 Member out of which 68 are effective, 57 adherent, 7 associate and 4 corresponding. ESTA chairs the CIT working group of the Confederation of European Security Services (CoESS) and serves on the Board of International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA) as well as on Bank Note Watch International (BNWI). |
